About Laramie Cooperative Preschool (LCP)
The overall purpose of the Laramie Cooperative Preschool is two-fold: socialization and education. These go hand in hand. By providing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in a group setting, children learn social and intellectual skills that will become the building blocks for their future. Our preschool provides a happy, safe place for children to expand their horizons by creating an enjoyable environment that tells children that learning, perseverance, community, and self-discipline are valued.
Our Teacher, Katie Powell...
Katie joined us in September, 2008. She has 10 years of experience teaching preschool, in the Village School Montessori, The Developmental Preschool, The Open School, University of Wyoming Early Care and Educational Center. She has experience with Montessori, Reggio, and Creative Curriculum approaches.
Katie strives to foster excitement and wonder in her students by providing opportunities for hands on interaction and exploration in a welcoming environment. She takes her role to educate and nurture our next generation very seriously and transfers her enthusiasm to her young students.
